This blog is about spiritual and artistic inspiration. We are dealing with arts and spirituality. Neither art or spirituality can be defined in any way, these subjects may be termed as abstract, but are they? A portrait or a landscape depict something real, but can anyone depict God? God is Spirit the Bible teaches and therefore any desire and attempt to make out of God a figure or a portrait is not only discouraged but that desire itself is viewed as being evil.[Deuteronomy 4:15-20] So watch yourselves carefully, since you did not see any form on the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb from the midst of the fire, so that you do not act corruptly and make a graven image for yourselves in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the sky, the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water below the earth. And beware not to lift up your eyes to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and be drawn away and worship them and serve them, those which the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven. But the LORD has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, from Egypt, to be a people for His own possession, as today.
Powerful words indeed. An idol making is pagan to the core. It is so easy to slip, and be drawn to see something with just the physical eyes just to admire it, which is not wrong. However, any self image, even an idol made out of music, talents, or the visible beauty, inevitably leads to idolatry of some kind.
Images of gods, like those the Sumerian, Egyptian, Babylonian, Persian and Greek people were creating deprived humanity of spiritual perceptions.
Basically our psyche has been abducted. We have been stripped of the true spirituality, which even the word 'spirituality' itself evokes spook and superstitious sentiments these days.

Music is only a medium that emphasizes people's existent reality. Madness can also be artistic, just as any exploitation of a feeble mind - not anchored in the truth - can be also.
Heavy Metal Rock exploits those weird sentiments about the dark world of demons, vampires and death. Anyone brooding in that sort of 'music' will succumb to violence, sensationalism and the mystery of death. In my opinion, anyone dwelling on the overemphasized mystique of death will only hasten the process of dying.
The mixture of desires, sexual, which is of life, and deadly, which is mystical; is an explosive mixture with which we seduce ourselves. The ministry to the body is only natural; so is food and drink. The ministry to our spiritual being needs no imagery of any kind; it needs no sound, but rather uplifting words of inspiration. Anointed praise and worship music can create that atmosphere. But better yet, inner praise and worship without any external sound is the way to go. To enter the inner corridors of God's presence does not take or needs no help. It is all within you already.
We admire human body and it is healthy for a man to admire woman's body and for a lady to admire man's, there is nothing wrong with that; it even should be so for after all God made all living creatures sexual. However, it is the mismanagement and misdirection of those affections that can produce harm and therefore sin. For this reason a man should nurture a healthy desire for his wife and a woman healthy desire for her husband, until then the admiration acts like a bee going from flower to flower. I used the word "nurture" advisedly. Speak gently to your spouse and enjoy his or her body for the spirit of life is in him and in her. So, address that and not just the flesh and blood, which is only a frame. You do not want to make love to a dead corpse. Do you? You are enjoying her and his life, therefore you are enjoying God in each of you.
Address gentleness and kindness in each other and discover the fountain of youth and longevity and the ecstatic joy of life. Read more »
